• PYTHEAS MailGate is a POP3 connector (or POP3 gateway) which downloads messages from your Internet POP3 mailboxes, and distributes them automatically to the mailboxes on your corporate messaging server, such as Microsoft Exchange 2007, 2003 or 2000, Microsoft Exchange 5.5, Lotus Domino, or other corporate mail servers supporting the SMTP protocol.
• Anti-virus protection: Each message can be checked for viruses by your server based real-time anti-virus scanner, which may already protect the shared folders of your corporate network.
• Anti-spam protection: Each message can be spam-checked by SpamAssassin.
• Exceptions in message handling after content-checking a message.

• PYTHEAS MailGate can also handle outgoing Internet mail.
• A disclaimer can be added to each outgoing message.
• Permissions for outgoing mail can be set at user level, including maximum message size.
• Sending of outgoing messages can be done in coordination with incoming mail handling.
