Installation of the Microsoft .Net Framework v. 2.0

Since the 2.40 release, this framework is needed on machines where you want to run PYTHEAS MailGate. If you received a corresponding warning message, and you have been directed to this page, it is probably not yet installed.

How to install the Framework on Windows Server 2003 (or earlier)

• On Windows Server 2003 x64 (64 bit): Download the Framework installer (x64 version, approximately 45 Mb). Then execute NetFx64.exe.
• On Windows Server 2003 x86 (32 bit) or Windows Server 2000: Download the Framework installer (x86 version, approximately 22 Mb). Then execute dotnetfx.exe.

Then, if you left PYTHEAS MailGate waiting for the framework installation, click OK. Otherwise, start PYTHEAS MailGate from the Start menu.

• on Windows Server 2000, you may also need a newer version of the Windows Installer.

On Windows Server 2008

The Framework is installed by default.

On Windows Server 2012

Set up the Application Server role and install the .Net Framework 3.5 features.

Upgrade the Framework with Service Pack 2

Please make sure to apply Service Pack 2 to your framework installation. You can check the service pack level with the PYTHEAS MailGate Configuration Program (beginning with version 2.50b), About page, Components.... You will find a download link at http://download.microsoft.com.
